The Arts and Culture Development Office
The Arts and Culture Development Office (ACDO) was set up in August 2009 as part of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) to promote cultural philanthropy and to champion the arts and culture as a worthy cause in Singapore. It contributes to a larger effort to build a gracious community in which citizens take greater ownership of the arts and culture. These include encouraging the spirit of giving to the arts and culture in Singapore, creating a network of arts and culture champions from the public, private and people sectors and fostering a robust arts and cultural sector with strong professional skills.

Singapore’s first ticket incentive scheme aims to reach more Singaporeans with diversity beyond performing arts and promotion of volunteerism
4 August 2010, Singapore – Keppel Corporation, together with the Arts and Culture Development Office (ACDO) from the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA), unveiled plans for an enhanced Keppel Nights scheme, opening more opportunities to enjoy the Arts for first-time goers and those who cannot afford full price ticket purchase.
Introduced in 2008, Keppel Nights is Singapore’s first ticket subsidy scheme to benefit and cultivate audiences for the arts. The scheme is a collaboration between Keppel and the ACDO who is the scheme administrator, and is supported by SISTIC who provides technical advice and support.
Since its launch, the scheme has supported about 150 shows offering 12,500 subsidised tickets and benefiting more than 11,000 people.
On the enhanced Keppel Nights scheme, Mr Teo Soon Hoe, Senior Executive Director and Group Finance Director of Keppel Corporation, said, “As a strong supporter of the Arts and in line with our thrust of Nurturing Communities, Keppel is happy to build on the reach and momentum achieved by Keppel Nights. The innovative scheme continues to develop new audiences for the Arts, amongst youths and senior citizens, and especially with those less privileged.”
