Why did Keppel embark on this initiative with NAC?
Keppel has been a strong supporter of the arts for more than a decade. The company would like to continue playing its part in enriching and nurturing the lives of the community as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
According to studies conducted by NAC, a large segment of Singaporeans who are interested to attend arts performances and programmes are discouraged by the cost of tickets. Hence, Keppel has decided to support this initiative which helps to make tickets more affordable.
Who does the scheme benefit?
The scheme is structured in such a way that it will primarily benefit the lower income groups which include students, NSFs and senior citizens. Keppel and NAC hope to help enrich the lives of Singaporeans and in the process, cultivate audiences for the arts.

Who administers this scheme?
National Arts Council is in charge of the administration and overall marketing and publicity of the Keppel Nights scheme.
How long will the scheme run?
Keppel Nights will run for a period of one year, starting 19 August 2008.
Why is the scheme running for only one year?
The scheme is in its pilot run as it is the first of its kind in Singapore. Reviews are continuously conducted even as the scheme runs and develops in its first year.
What is the total number of shows under the scheme?
Half-price tickets to approximately forty shows are being offered just about every weekend over one year.
What are the types of shows selected under the scheme?
The scheme offers a wide spectrum of shows in music, dance, theatre and even visual arts.
How do I know which shows offer half-price tickets under the Scheme?
Besides a listing of the shows here on the Keppel Nights website, the publicity materials of selected shows will feature the Keppel Nights icon.

Why is this subsidy applicable only on the lower price tier tickets?
One of the scheme’s aims is to make the arts more accessible to a wide audience especially students, NSFs, senior citizens and their families. Many of them are new arts goers or seldom attend ticketed arts performances. Keppel and NAC hope to engage and encourage this group to cultivate their appreciation of the arts.
Are bulk purchases available for groups?
No, each person is allowed to purchase up to 4 subsidised tickets directly from the ticketing agent on a first-come-first-served basis.
Can my school claim cost of purchasing the Keppel Nights half-priced tickets from the Tote Board Arts Grant?
No.
Can I enjoy other discounts and promotions on top of the Keppel Nights subsidy?
No.
As an arts organisation or show promoter, how can my show become part of the Keppel Nights scheme?
All enquiries from arts organisations and show promoters must be channelled through NAC via kn@nac.gov.sg or telephone at the Keppel Nights Enquiry Line 6837 9844. Keppel Corporation will decide on the shows to be included under this scheme. |
